Gedges Lakes Fishing Season. To avoid confusion Gedges and Owls Castle lakes will now be open all year round, this also includes the Sundays where work parties will be carried out. Adequate signage will be put out if part or the entire site needs to be closed for work or repairs need to be carried out on the relevant Sundays. If any member removes the signage in order to access a particular peg, as has happened in the past, they will lose their membership.
Membership Renewal. The Club membership expires 31st March as it always has done. The renewal is out earlier for those that wish to take advantage of Gedges now being open during the closed season. Renewal of your membership will only allow you to fish Gedges and Owls Castle, not the rivers as the season is controlled by the Environment Agency.
Car Parking for disabled anglers at Gedges Lakes and Access to Lake 4. There have been instances of poor parking, please consider others when using the area. Additionally the key is only to be used by the disabled member it is issued to, not to be given to able bodied members because it is more convenient to use. A key for access to lake 4 allowing a standing area nearer to the lake, Lake 4 is accessible to all members not just key holders and like any of the other lakes if the pegs are all taken you need to fish on another lake.
Working Parties Working parties are still poorly attended. Thank you to the members who take the time to attend a work party. This season the Senior subs are £60 to include the £10 working party fee, any Senior who attends a work party is entitled to have a £10 reduction on their 2020-2021 subs or leave it as a donation towards repair costs. If contractors have to be employed they might need to close the site while the necessary work is carried out for health & safety reasons, this will mean no fishing.
